The WSET Advanced Certificate program provides an in-depth, structured approach to understanding more fully the fine wine regions, styles, and wine production techniques in the world, all underpinned by developing your tasting acuity through the use of the Systematic Approach to Tasting™ (SAT).
The course cost includes approximately 30 hours of instruction, textbook, exam and exam review materials, a study guide, handouts and tastings (around 95 wines). Outside reading is strongly encouraged, as this is an intensive course, and students will receive assignments to complete.
The Advanced Certificate has a two hour exam at the last session, which includes multiple choice questions, short essay questions and a blind tasting of two wines. Those who are successful will receive the WSET Advanced Award in Wine. It is a challenge worth pursuing, and a superb higher level achievement for those in the trade at all levels, as well as the wine enthusiast wishing more in-depth knowledge of wines.
Registration fees include the cost of WSET textbook, course instruction, handouts, wine tastings, and exam. Certificate and pin awarded upon successful completion of exam.
